Job Description

The Senior Facilities Engineer position is a direct-hire position working for HGA's Integrated Services Business Unit.

This position is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of engineering for projects assigned. Responsible for preparing and review of calculations, design drawings, and other information. Directly involved with the Designer in the development of 3D graphic modeling work. Supports construction and procurement with preparation of drawings and material take-offs. Reviews as-built drawings and assists with collection of design information required by construction and procurement.
• Conceptualize initial design and give guidance to a team of Engineers and Designer / Draftsmen during preliminary design.
• Provide estimates of engineering manpower effort required for the jobs led and provide accurate manpower planning and tracking data during the duration of the project.
• Provide detail mechanical design of complex facilities and give guidance to a team of Engineers and Designers / Draftsmen
• Performs various design calculations, including, but not limited to: Hydraulic Calculations (Pump Sizing, Line Sizing, etc.), Stress Analysis, Wall Thickness Calculations & Piping Specifications, Equipment Sizing
• Generates equipment specifications and data sheets, prepares inquiry packages, completes technical/commercial bid evaluations, generates purchase requisitions, and reviews vendor drawings. This would also include procurement for bills of material take-offs such as pipe, fittings, and valves.
• Perform checking of complex facilities.
• Work with Design Lead to maintain project schedule by providing accurate and timely information.
• Responsible for the content and accuracy of the final design documents.
• Perform initial field survey to determine optimum equipment layout, facility operations and safety criteria.
• Support Design Lead in maintaining budget, schedule and adherence to the agreed to scope of work.
• Participate in multi-discipline Design / Drafting package squad checks
• Perform vendor data review of equipment and components in their assigned area.
• Support Design Lead in maintaining a needs list of design criteria to support completion of their assigned area.


Requirements:
• B.S. of Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited university/college preferred
• 12+ years of experience in fields strongly related to design engineering and equipment specifications preferred
• Knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications
• Experience with PFDs, P&IDs and Piping Codes is strongly preferred.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas, Refinery, or Chemical Industry field is required.
• Experience with a consulting engineering firm preferred.
• Candidates must not require sponsorship now or in the future.
• Proficiency in MS Windows, MS outlook, MS Excel, MS Word
• Professional Engineering registration by examination is preferred; ability and willingness to pursue licensure is required.
• Candidates should be located within daily commuting distance of Ruston or Monroe, LA; The Woodlands, TX; Hattiesburg, MS; Birmingham, AL; Lexington, KY
