Underwriting Assistant – Workers’ Compensation Insurance

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as an Underwriting Assistant located in Charlotte, NC. Your day-to day tasks will include supporting underwriters within our Workers Compensation Division, analyzing risk factors, processing policy documentation, communicating with agents, and providing excellent customer service. You will play a vital role in the growth and the continued success of the group. As a small and growing organization, Cimarron will challenge you to contribute quickly and bring your unique perspective to the table to create solutions. Key Responsibilities : Lead the pre-underwriting process which includes, but is not limited to:

• Review and enter worker’s compensation submission applications
• Obtain missing or needed information from Agents
• Bind and issues policies within underwriting guidelines
• Support the deliverance of the policy and policyholder packets
• Actively contribute to process reviews of the quote, bind, and policy issuance workflows
• Process endorsements, service requests, loss runs, and cancellations within guidelines
• Review and resolve premium discrepancies
• Develop and maintain superior relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Handle inquiries and requests from both agents and policyholders
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications : College degree or working towards a degree preferred; insurance experience (1-2 years) is strongly preferred; exceptional problem solving and decision-making abilities; works effectively in a fast-paced environment; excellent organizational and time management skills; process work in a timely and accurate manner; capacity to work independently; reliable and consistent in attendance and performance.
