Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $65,000-75,000 annually

Position Overview
The Financial Counselor plays a vital role in ensuring patients feel informed and supported throughout their fertility journey by guiding them through the financial aspects of care. This position is responsible for presenting clear cost estimates, explaining insurance coverage, securing authorizations, and assisting with payment options—all while fostering positive and compassionate patient interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Present and discuss all financial aspects of treatment with patients in a clear and supportive manner.
- Explain patient billing, insurance coverage, and collection policies/procedures.
- Prepare cost estimates based on treatment plans and insurance coverage.
- Collect all necessary payments including co-pays, deductibles, and pre-service fees.
- Assist patients with financial applications and credit/payment programs.
- Verify insurance benefits and secure prior authorizations when required.
- Accurately document all authorizations in the Practice Management System.
- Complete benefit verifications for new and returning patients with insurance changes.
- Monitor accounts for patients undergoing IVF or other fertility treatments.
- Submit patient and insurance billing paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Respond to patient and team inquiries in a professional and timely fashion.
- Foster positive, collaborative relationships with patients and team members.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines in line with company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Prior experience working in fertility or reproductive medicine is required.
- In-depth knowledge of fertility insurance , including authorization and verification processes
- Comfortable navigating insurance provider websites and portals
- Strong communication skills with a positive and upbeat personality
- Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with practice management systems and medical billing software a plus
- Ability to work well independently and within a team environment
