Salary: 90,000.00 - $125,000.00

Job Overview

Visiting Nurse Health System is hiring a Director of Finance & Accounting. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the organization’s financial functions, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. This position plays a key role in strategic planning and decision support to ensure VNHS’s continued financial health and ability to serve our community. You’ll collaborate closely with executive leadership, departmental managers, external auditors, and partners to uphold financial integrity and support organizational goals.

What You’ll Do:

• Direct and oversee all financial and accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements and reports.

• Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.

• Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.

• Manage external audits, tax filings, and relationships with financial institutions.

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO, COO, and Board of Directors.

• Oversee billing, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable operations.

• Develop financial dashboards and performance metrics to track organizational goals.

• Mentor and lead a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and high performance.

• Collaborate across departments to support program planning, grant management, and cost efficiency initiatives.

Location:

• Atlanta, GA

You’re Perfect for the Position if you:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA strongly preferred).

• Have at least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, with prior leadership of a finance team.

• Bring expertise in non-profit financial management, including knowledge of fund accounting and compliance.

• Are proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Blackbaud, or similar) and Microsoft Excel for advanced analysis and reporting.

• Demonstrate excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

• Have experience working directly with executive leadership and Boards.
